KAPTURE

An electronic performance created by two Amsterdam based artists both finding their surroundings as an infinite source of inspiration. By manipulating audio recordings and images, which they have collected during field trips, they create a fading line between reality and the imaginary. Resulting in an psychedelic dance experience where the audience is taken from their comfort zone into unknown territory.
Everything started with a brainstorm between Music Technologist Enricko van Dijken en Christian Cardenas. They both are fascinated with everyday sounds from their surroundings and live electronics. They decided to create a project in which they can express themself and use field recordings and electronics as main tools.
The result of this project is an electronic live performance which is extremely suitable for collaboration with other artists (visual artists/musicians). And also very flexible in different settings. This causes a pleasing shift in the project’s format while they retain their signature “Kapture” sound.
